Mission of Catholic Schools

Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Denver exist to cultivate in students and the whole school community a love for Jesus Christ, fidelity to His Church, and commitment to the dignity of the human person. They seek to assist parents in forming their children in moral and academic excellence. In developing the talents of every student to the fullest, they seek to evangelize and serve the wider community in the name of the Gospel.

Catholic School System
The Archdiocese of Denver's Catholic school system is comprised of 37 elementary schools, two archdiocesan secondary schools, two private elementary schools and five private secondary schools, which provide religious formation and education for almost 15,000 students. Including the Denver metro area, our district includes the northern areas of Boulder, Loveland, Fort Collins, and Longmont as well as Glenwood Springs and Sterling.

Proud of our diversity, we serve a minority enrollment of almost 26%. Lay people represent approximately 96% of our teaching staff. Sisters, brothers, and priests comprise the remainder of this dedicated and dynamic group. The average Kindergarten through grade 12 pupil to teacher ratio is 20-25 to 1.

Faith Community
Our schools are distinctly Catholic faith communities committed to faith formation and excellence in education, where the vision is that they:

* Focus on each student's faith and individual learning goals, which are identified and achieved in partnership with educators, parents and support staff;
* Attract, retain, and develop exemplary personnel who are committed to their personal growth in the Catholic faith and professional growth in education;
* Recognize parents as the primary educators of their children, who actively participate in their children's faith formation and education;
* Serve a high percentage of the Catholic children in the Archdiocese; and have the resources, funds, facilities, and equipment to sufficiently educate the Catholic children of the Archdiocese.
