Introduction
Dear friends,
I'm pleased to introduce the new graphic identity guidelines
for the Archdiocese of Denver, the first such update in a decade. This revised
design, which begins implementation today, features our archdiocesan crest and
is accompanied by our official title. The new guidelines were crafted to embody
the identifying elements of the archdiocese.
The redesign concludes a process of careful collaboration across
ministries and departments to develop a new graphic identity that adequately
represents the archdiocese. The Office of Communications worked closely with
the award winning design company, Garcia Media, to create a logo that best communicates
the work of the archdiocese.
The new logo design will help strengthen the impact of the
Archdiocese of Denver's communications through consistency and recognition.
Its proper use is important because it will help ensure that our efforts to
reach the faithful are easily identifiable. The materials in this style guide
provide all of us with the tools needed to use this logo effectively. I ask
all employees to review its contents, to become familiar with the methods for
using our new logo, and to follow these new guidelines consistently.
This new design symbolizes the character of the Church in northern Colorado.
I'm very grateful for your cooperation and full support in implementing it.
Yours in Christ,
Most Reverend Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap.
Archbishop of Denver
